I love my new haircut and style. Kori was wonderful and super professional. She gave me some tips on working with my naturally curly hair. She showed me specialized products I could use but wasn't at all pushy about purchasing them. The salon is cute and welcoming. I'll definitely be back from Milwaukee for a haircut.
Not to mention the brushes that she used on me had someone's hair on them! I know they're not mine because I'm not blonde! The stations need to be cleaned up a little bit. I think all the girls in the salon need more education on current styles. Just because this is a small town, doesn't mean that you don't need to! You never know who might come!
She proceeded to cut my hair after. My hair was literally VERY short. Did not look like the picture and my hair was like a men's cut!. All the same length, no a-line. The razoring was a joke. I felt like she was yanking my hair AND she used shears most of the time! My left said was way heavier and my right side felt like I just got out of chemo. I couldn't see the red ombre in the front. Only the back part of my hair on the bottom was red. This was the worse haircut/color I have ever experienced.
Anyway, when I walked in, I was greeted by their Esthetician who was super nice and patient with my daughter hence the full star rating. If it weren't for her it would have been a half star at most. My appointment was at 1:00 p.m. I wasn't taken in until about ten fifteen minutes later. I don't know why... there was no one in the salon...
I showed Tessa what I wanted and got my cut back to what I like.
Good at cutting hair
I'm never going back here again whenever I visit.
She first started with color. She came out with bleach, no foils, wrap or anything. She started painting only the tips of my hair. It was very quick. Last time I had ombre done it took awhile with cotton, wraps, etc.. so wtf?! And on top of that it was left on for 10 minutes. My hair cannot handle hard bleach since it had been previously bleached (my hair on the top was green.. faded from blue). Then she washed my hair. The shampoo bowls were very uncomfortable. My neck was hurting me. After she washed only the ends, she blow dried my hair and put black on the roots/base and the red over the lightened hair. I did not like the lightened hair. It made a line! It was no ombre at all! She took me to the bowls again and washed it. No scalp massage or anything.
Oh before I get into further details, when I had called the salon before I flew into MN, I had SPECIFICALLY requested that I ONLY want a stylist experienced with razor cutting. I HATE HATE HATE shears, unless you're doing my fringe. I have always razored my hair at salons. Back to the story... I showed the stylist the style that I wanted. Which was a razored choppy a-line stacked bob. Kimberly Caldwell style. Google it. I mentioned to her again also that I do not like shears and that I like razors only. She nodded. As for color... I wanted a BLACK TO RED OMBRE.
I received a pedicure from Amber. She did such a great job and was very friendly. I noticed that they are very clean and that they use disposable items to ensure cleanliness. I liked all of the added little things that they did to make me comfortable. I will definitely be going back.
I came from out of state to visit my family. My usual stylist in Rochester no longer works for her old salon so I had to find a new place. I figured I'd give a small town a try because I like supporting local businesses.
